Major Fair/Advisor Night

An event which connects student-athletes with campus advisors and provides opportunities for student-athletes to learn about various UW majors.

Student-Athlete Career Night

An annual career event and networking dinner offering student-athletes the opportunity to meet one-on-one with employers interested in recruiting student-athletes for internships and job openings. Representatives from various graduate and professional schools are also in attendance to share information regarding post-graduate educational opportunities.

Counseling Psychology 110- Career Strategies (required for students to take in their third or fourth year)

A 1 credit course offered both fall and spring semesters with an emphasis on career strategies and athletics. Students are taught career development skills such as networking, resume writing and interviewing and students develop an action plan to implement these skills.

One-On-One Career Counseling

Individual assistance with resume writing, graduate school applications, internship & and job search strategies is offered.

Badger Internship Program

Internships allow student-athletes to draw connections between their classroom education and its application to their chosen field. During internships students gain valuable professional experiences such as a first-hand look at a career before committing to it, develop problem solving skills by working on real world problems, practice the communication and interpersonal skills needed to be successful and develop relationships with industry professionals and faculty.

Badger Shadow Experience

Job Shadowing is an opportunity for the student-athlete to connect or "shadow" with a business professional who has specific knowledge about an occupation or career in which the student-athlete is interested in.

BuckyNet

BuckyNet is a campus-wide software program that connects students and employers. Students can post resumes and create profiles, while employers can search for talent and post current openings.

Campus Career Services

Career service offices offer assistance with resume writing, preparing for a job interview, searching for a job, etc. Each school or college houses career service offices within each of its departments.
