MADISON, Wis. -- Freshman Sarah Disanza, in her first international cross country competition for the United States, placed 12th in the women's junior 4-kilometer race at the 2014 Bupa Gread Edniburgh Championship on Saturday.
Disanza crossed the line in 14:33 and was the fourth runner to finish for the United States. She was joined in Scotland with UW head coach Mick Byrne, who served as a coach for the U.S. Former Wisconsin standout Maverick Darling was slated to run in the men's 8-kilometer race, but withdrew prior to the event.
Bobby Clay of Great Britain won the race, clocking in at 13:59.
