For instance, did you know on Oct. 28-29, Wisconsin hosted the 1977 Big Ten Championship in the Field House. The Badgers defeated Michigan 2-0 in their first match and went on to finish second to Ohio State in the tournament despite a power outage which pushed back the completion of the tournament for a few hours.
Or prior to 1977, UW would host home matches in the Natatorium, bringing in bleachers and folding chairs for spectators. The Badgers actually returned to the Natatorium after the 1977 championship, but would come back to the Field House in 1980 for two tournaments. The Field House became UW's permanent home in 1986.
A special ticket offer will be made available for the Oct. 28 match. Fans can purchase two general admission tickets for only $3.50! Be sure to secure your seats for this unique milestone match.
Fans should follow twitter for additional 35th anniversary promotions announced as the milestone match approaches.
