MADISON, Wis. – For the fifth year in a row, the University of Wisconsin volleyball program returns to the Madison airwaves. The Badgers will once again team with Clear Channel Radio in Madison to air 23 UW regular-season matches this season. Broadcasts begin this weekend with the InnTowner Invitational. All Big Ten Conference matches will also be broadcast.
Matches will air in the Madison area on the The Mic 92.1 (WXXM-FM) and on WTSO (1070 AM) with Jon Arias returning for his fifth season as the voice of the Badgers. Jim Caston will provide the call when Arias is busy with his new job as the voice the Badger women’s basketball team. All matches can also be heard online at InsideBadgerSports.com.
“We are excited to be on the radio again this season,” says UW coach Pete Waite. “Both Jon and Jim do a great job providing player and coach interviews along with exciting play by play. They travel with us and get the behind the scene stories that help fans get to know our team.”
Clear Channel, which owns and operates WIBA-AM, WIBA-FM, WXXM-FM, WMAD-FM, WTSO-AM and WZEE-FM, also broadcasts UW football, UW men’s, UW women’s basketball and UW men’s hockey throughout the year.
