MADISON, Wis. – For the first time since 2008, the University of Wisconsin volleyball program will make an appearance on ESPN2. The Badgers’ match at Penn State has been moved to Sunday, Nov. 4 at 1 p.m. and will air live on the network. Wisconsin will also make two appearances on the Big Ten Network during the 2012 season.
“We’re excited to be on ESPN again,” said UW head coach Pete Waite. “The Big Ten Network has been great for volleyball, but ESPN covers even more areas worldwide. It’ll be great for our fans, families and recruits to be able to watch us play.”
Wisconsin has not made an appearance on an ESPN affiliate since losing to then-No. 1 Penn State on Oct. 24, 2008. The Badgers are 11-7 all-time in ESPN network appearances, including a 2-3 mark against the Nittany Lions.
The Badgers have made at least two appearances on the Big Ten Network the last three seasons and that trend continues this year. Wisconsin’s match at Michigan State on Oct. 5 airs on a tape-delayed basis while UW and Indiana will air live on the Network from the UW Field House on Oct. 19 at 8 p.m.
