MADISON, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin volleyball team makes three appearances on the Big Ten Network during the 2010 season. The Badgers have two home matches on the network, including a match up vs. reigning NCAA champion Penn State on Sept. 26.

“We’re excited to be on the Big Ten Network three times this season,” says UW coach Pete Waite. “It will give all of our fans and recruits across the country a chance to watch us on national TV.”

Wisconsin opens its Big Ten Network schedule on Sept. 26 when the Nittany Lions come to town for a 1 p.m. match in the UW Field House. That match will be shown on a tape-delayed basis at 6 p.m. that day. Penn State has won the last three national championships and finished the 2009 season with a 38-0 record.

UW faces Illinois twice on the Big Ten Network. The Badgers host the Illini on Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. in the UW Field House. Wisconsin travels to Champaign, Ill., on Nov. 3 for a 6 p.m. match in Huff Hall. Both matches air live on the network. Illinois finished second in the 2009 Big Ten Conference race and advanced to the sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament last season.
