Volleyball wraps up spring home season tonight

MADISON, Wis. - Tonight is your last chance to catch the Badger volleyball team until this fall as Wisconsin hosts Milwaukee at 7 p.m. in the UW Field House. Admission is free and free parking is available in lots 17 and 19. The Badgers will hold a free post-match autograph session as well.

It is the Badgers' third and final home match this spring and Wisconsin is 2-0 so far with a 3-0 win over Loyola on March 16 and a 2-1 win over Green Bay last Saturday.

UW has been an impressive blocking team this spring, averaging 4.50 blocks per set as a team. True freshman Tori Blake, who just joined the Badgers in January, leads wisconsin with 2.50 blocks per set. Junior Dominique Thompson adds 1.83 blocks per set while sophomore Courtney Thomas (1.50/set) and junior Julie Mikaelsen (1.67/set) also put up impressive numbers.

Offensively, sophomore Ellen Chapman leads the Badgers with 4.00 kills per set while sophomore Deme Morales adds 2.83 kills per set. Thomas averages 9.33 assists per set at setter.

Wisconsin will wrap up its spring season on April 20 when it heads to Minneapolis for the Minnesota Spring Invitational.
