MADISON, Wis. – Annemarie Hickey and Elise Walch, 2010 signees of the University of Wisconsin volleyball program, continue to pick up national honors.
Hickey, a 5-8 outside hitter/defensive specialist from Joliet, Ill., was named a first-team All-American by Volleyball Magazine. She was one of 12 players named to the first team as released in the February issue of the magazine. Walch, a 6-5 outside hitter from Palm City, Fla., was named to the 12-player second-team All-America squad.
The duo was also named to the 2009 PrepVolleyball.com All-America team. The Web site selects 150 players who made the greatest impact on their teams and in their states during the 2009 high school season. Hickey is a repeat honoree after being named All-American last season while Walch picks up her first honor.
