MADISON, Wis. - Now is the time to sign up your daughter or son for the 2014 Wisconsin Volleyball camps this summer. The Badgers will hold eight camps during the month of July for volleyball players entering the sixth through 12th grades this fall, as well as a half-day camp for youth ages five through the fifth grade.

All campers attending multi-day camps will receive a free camp t-shirt and free camp volleyball as well as a ticket to a 2014 UW volleyball home match. Campers attending the One-Day camps and Team Competition camp will receive a free camp t-shirt as well as a free ticket to a home match.

Girls entering the eighth through 12th grades may attend the one of two sessions of the Badger Camp to get the true "Badger" experience. Training throughout the camp will be similar to that of the Badger volleyball team with individual development through skill development and competition. Badger I Camp will be held July 7-9 with Badger II camp being held July 14-16. Cost of either camp is $325 for residents and $285 for commuters.

One-day camps will be held for setters, hitters and liberos on July 19. Participants will be taught basic and advanced setting, beginner and advanced hitting techniques and will be introduced to position-specific training of outside, middle and right-side hitters, and advanced passing skills. Cost of any camp is $100.

A middle-school day camp for girls entering the sixth through eighth grades will be held July 14-16. This day camp will focus on all fundamental volleyball skills including hitting, setting, defense, serving and passing.

A youth half-day camp will be held on July 14-16 and will introduce "little Badgers" to the sport of volleyball while teaching new skills in a fun environment.

Girls' junior varsity and varsity high school teams looking to take their team to the next level can participate in the Overnight Team Camp July 11-13, while teams looking specifically to take on other varsity and junior varsity teams can attend the Girls Team Competition Camp on July 13.

The Overnight Team Camp will address each team's specific needs and work to improve its competition level over the course of three days. Cost of the overnight camp is $325 per player for residents and $285 for commuters. The single-day Team Competition Camp is designed to improve team skills and cohesiveness while also focusing on team competition. Cost of the competition camp is $60 per camper.
