MADISON, Wis. -- Members of the Wisconsin women’s track and field team had the chance to try their hand at a new talent last week as they participated in East Madison Community Center’s Bowl-A-Thon.
The Bowl-A-Thon brought kids and adults together to bowl alongside the UW student-athletes in an effort to raise money for the community center in Madison. Proceeds from the event help the community center provide a wide array of youth and educational programs for children.
Student-athletes Lauren Holtz, Erin Krause, Ariel Michalek, Maddie Timm and Taylor Zimprich all attended the event and appreciated the fun, competitive atmosphere and opportunity to socialize with others in the community.
Zimprich, a distance runner, was amazed at how much collective support the community center has.
“It was great to see so many organizations from the community come together to support one cause,” she said. “I’m glad our UW student-athletes -- and Bucky -- were able to be involved and help show our support for the Madison community. Bowling is always a good time.”
