Ellenwood to compete at 2013 Pan-Am Junior Championships

MADISON, Wis. --
Incoming Wisconsin freshman Georgia Ellenwood will compete for Canada in the heptathlon at the 2013 Pan-American Junior Championships this Friday through Sunday, Aug. 23-25, in Medellin, Columbia.

The heptathlon begins on Saturday with the 100 meters at 9:30 a.m. (CT) and concludes on Sunday, Aug. 25.

A native of Langley, British Columbia, Ellenwood set a provincial record en route to winning the gold medal in the heptathlon at the 2013 Canadian Junior Championships with a score of 5,461 points. She ranks 10th in the world junior rankings heading into the Pan-Am junior championships.

Ellenwood is no stranger to competing at the international level, as she finished 18th at the 2012 IAAF World Junior Championships in Barcelona, Spain. She also represented Canada at the 2011 IAAF World Youth Championships in Lille, France, where she placed 12th.
