MADISON, Wis. -- Five athletes from the Wisconsin women’s track and field team earned All-Academic honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the organization announced this month.

The UW women’s program also earned USTFCCCA All-Academic team accolades for the eighth-consecutive season.

Deanna Latham earned her third All-Academic honor, while Gabi Anzalone and Brianna Bower each collected their second honor. Erin Cawley and Molly Hanson make their first appearance on the team.

She set the program record in the 60 hurdles and earned the third-best pentathlon score en route to a fifth-place showing at the 2014 NCAA Indoor Championships. A native of Newbury, Massachusetts, Latham redshirted the outdoor season, but finished sixth in the heptathlon at the Pan American Combined Events Challenge for the U.S. and was 11th at the U.S. Outdoor Championships in the event.

Anzalone finished sixth in the 10,000 meters at the Big Ten championships with a personal-best time of 34 minutes, 26.48 seconds. She earned a spot in the event at the NCAA West Preliminary Round where she finished 19th in 35:09.02.

Bower set the Badgers’ school record in the javelin this year with a heave of 163 feet, 10 inches en route to a sixth-place finish at the Big Ten outdoor meet. She qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary Round for the second-straight year.
