MADISON, Wis. -- A fall schedule full of invitational and regional play will prepare the Wisconsin women's tennis team for a tough 2013 schedule that includes eight home matches and matchups with top-5 teams, as the 2012-13 schedule was announced by head coach Brian Fleishman Tuesday.
The Badgers kick off the fall portion of their schedule with the All-American Invitational on Sept. 29, followed by trips to Michigan State and Northwestern. The ITA Midwest Regional and Alternate Regional round out fall play.
Wisconsin kicks off the spring schedule with a trip to Duke on Jan. 26. Duke finished the 2012 season ranked No. 3 in the ITA Women's National Team Rankings. Matches against Wyoming and College of Charleston round out the trip to Durham, N.C.
Continuing their east coast swing, the Badgers visit Dartmouth on Feb. 1 and play Boston University on Feb. 2.
The home schedule gets underway on Feb. 8 when Utah visits the Nielsen Tennis Stadium. Following a trip to Louisville on Feb. 16, Wisconsin hosts Marquette on Feb. 20.
Wisconsin heads north to Minneapolis for a match with Mississippi State in Minneapolis on Feb. 23 before opening Big Ten Conference play against Minnesota on Feb. 24.
A final trip south on March 2-3 sends the Badgers to Lubbock, Texas to play Texas Tech and SMU.
Wisconsin hosts UIC on March 16, before welcoming Big Ten opponents Michigan and Michigan State to Madison on March 23-24.
UW's spring break ends with a road trip to Illinois on March 29 and a visit to Northwestern on March 31.
Home matches with Ohio State (April 5), Penn State (April 7) and Iowa (April 19) will serve as tune ups for the Big Ten Championships held in Bloomington, Ind., April 25.
