MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin women's tennis team announced its 2013-14 schedule on Friday, a slate of 23 dual matches and up to five tournaments that begins on Sept. 20 at the Minnesota Invitational.

The Badgers will compete in the Spartan Invitational (Sept. 27) and Wildcat Invitational (Oct. 4) for the third- and eighth-consecutive years, respectively. New for this year is the Minnesota Invitational.

Should any Badgers players be invited, they will also compete in the USTA/ITA Midwest Regional (Oct. 10) or the Midwest Alternate Regional (Oct. 11).

Wisconsin will open its spring season on Jan. 25 at home against in-state rival Milwaukee. UW's non-conference slate also includes home matches against Northern Illinois (Jan. 25), William & Mary (Feb. 7), Texas Tech (Feb. 9), Louisville (Feb 14), Dartmouth (Feb. 16), DePaul (March 1) and UIC (march 8. The Texas Tech, Louisville, Dartmouth and UIC matches are carryovers from last season, when the Badgers went a combined 1-3 against those teams.

UW's non-conference road matches include a Feb. 1 tussle at Marquette, as well as battles with Wyoming (Feb. 21), Drake (Feb. 23) and San Jose State (March 18). All told, the non-conference schedule includes four teams that made the 2013 NCAA Tournament (UIC, William & Mary, UIC and San Jose State) and five squads that ended the season ranked by the ITA (No. 17 Texas Tech, No. 44 William & Mary, No. 63 SJSU, No. 74 Louisville and No. 75 DePaul).

The Badgers will open the Big Ten season with a home match against Minnesota on March 2. Nebraska, Indiana, Purdue, Northwestern and Illinois are the other Big Ten teams that UW will host at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium.

Road matches against Iowa, Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan State and Michigan round out Wisconsin's Big Ten schedule.
