MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin women's tennis team continued its tradition of giving back to the community, Sunday March 18, as the squad hosted a women's tennis clinic in support of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.

"This team has been great this year," head coach Brian Fleishman said. "This team has done more for the community since I've been here in five years. I'm really proud of them, and I think they realize now that there are other things out there than what they're going through right now in their college life."

Women 21 and over joined current  UW women's tennis players and Coach Fleishman for a morning of games and drills at Nielsen Tennis Stadium all while raising funds and awareness for breast cancer.

Although the event was free, attendees were encouraged to donate to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. With the generosity of its participants, the clinic helped raise over $1,000 for the cause.

Participants also enjoyed snacks and prizes, while interacting with members of the team.

"I'm shocked by the turnout and everyone seemed so excited," senior captain Lauren Gruber said. "It's just for a great cause. It's great to come out here, have fun, play tennis and do something great with our time."

This season, the Badgers also adopted a local family in need for the holiday season and participated in the "Cycle for Sight" fundraiser.
