MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women’s tennis team invites the community to cycle with them Saturday, Feb. 11 in an effort to raise money for vision research.
Next weekend, four members of the UW tennis team will hop on stationary bikes as part of the “Cycle for Sight” fundraiser. Hannah Berner, Lauren Gruber, Caroline Bauer and Alaina Trgovich will use a day off in between two home matches to cycle for vision research.
The four-hour relay ride made up of four-person teams is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Each “leg” of the relay is 50 minutes with 10 minutes reserved for rotation to a new cyclist.
Fifty-eight indoor cycles on the UW campus and around the Madison community have been reserved to accommodate this initiative. The cost of participating is $10 per rider.
Even if you can’t make it to the event, you can still show your support for vision research and the women’s tennis team by submitting a scholarship. To sponsor the team, enter “sponsorship for Wisco Tennis.”
