MADISON, Wis. -- Wisconsin softball head coach Yvette Healy has announced the 2013 schedule, featuring 17 home games that include 11 Big Ten Conference contests.
The Badgers start their spring season in February in North Carolina. The UNC Tournament in Charlotte, N.C., will be held Feb. 8-10, where the Badgers will play Notre Dame, Presbyterian and Charlotte.
Early spring trips to Florida, California, Southern Illinois and Kentucky will help Wisconsin avoid the cold.
The Big Ten season starts on March 22 with a three-game road trip to Illinois. Wisconsin opens its home schedule with a visit from Northwestern on March 27 and hosts Iowa on March 29-31.
A midweek home doubleheader against Northern Iowa is bookended by trips to Minnesota and Nebraska.
Wisconsin returns to Goodman Diamond for a seven-game home stand, hosting Loyola-Chicago on April 17 and closes out its home schedule on May 3-5 with a three-game series against Michigan State.
The Big Ten tournament returns to the schedule for the first time since 2008. It is slated to run from May 9-12 in Lincoln, Neb.
