MADISON, Wis. -- The Wisconsin softball team starts its fall season at home this Sunday as it takes on Kirkwood Community College at Goodman Diamond in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.

Coming off one of the best seasons in school history, coach Yvette Healy and the Badgers look to improve even further this year. The Badgers are returning all 10 starters from a year ago and have added eight freshmen to the roster.

Falling just short of the regional tournament last year, Wisconsin looks to advance to the postseason in 2012-13. In Healy's first season as head coach, she led the Badgers to 30 wins for just the sixth time in school history. Last season, the Badgers surpassed that with an overall record of 34-19.

The Badgers will also face Green Bay, Heartland Community College and Loyola during the fall season.

Fans can follow all of the action with live updates on the Badgers' Facebook and Twitter pages.
