With a 4-1 win over the Nittany Lions (13-25 overall, 5-9 Big Ten) in the first game of the doubleheader, the Badgers (26-13, 9-4) became the fastest team to reach 25 wins in school history.

Behind the tough arm of Cassandra Darrah, the Badgers scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back.

A double by Massei in the bottom of the fourth, followed by an error by Penn State's infield gave the Badgers a 4-0 lead. In the top of the seventh, Caitlin Bell hit a solo home run for Penn State's only run of the day.

Darrah pitched her 18th complete game, improving to 17-7. The sophomore right-hander only allowed one run on eight hits in seven innings.

Behind the strong pitching of Amanda Najdek, the Badgers shut out Penn State 8-0 in the second game of the doubleheader. Najdek pitched her second complete game and advanced to 5-1, only allowing two hits in five innings.

The offense kept rolling in the second game, with a six-run fourth inning. The Badgers used timely hitting, scoring six runs on six hits and one Nittany Lion error.

Wisconsin finished out the game in the bottom of the fifth inning, loading the bases for Massei. With two outs, the sophomore lefty hit a laser into left field to score Stephanie Peace and earn the run-rule win. Massei went 4-for-7 on the day, with three RBI and three runs.
