NSCAA/Continental Tire poll

Sept. 25, 2012

MADISON, Wis. – After a tough loss to Michigan on Sunday, the 7-3-0 Badgers fall from the rankings, but continue to receive votes in this week’s NSCAA/Continental Tire Division I poll released Tuesday.

Despite a strong 1-0 victory against Michigan State on Friday night, Wisconsin wasn’t able to carry their success through the weekend and fell 3-0 against Michigan on Sunday. The Badgers received 88 votes in this week’s poll and are two spots shy of cracking the top-25.

Following this weekend’s action, Michigan moves to No. 22 in the poll with a record of 9-2-0. The Wolverines were previously receiving votes, but had not yet been ranked this season.

Also in the Big Ten, Penn State moves to No. 8 with an 8-2-0 record, while Ohio State (7-3-0) and Iowa (11-1-0) both receive votes this week.

Undefeated Florida State (9-0-0) continues their tight hold on the top spot in the poll this week. Stanford (7-1-1), UCLA (7-0-2), Duke (7-2-1) and Boston College (8-1-2) jockey for position, but ultimately remain within the NSCAA top five. Just two of the poll’s top-25 teams remain undefeated, while nine teams carry a one-loss record.

The Badgers face their second Big Ten road trip of the season beginning on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. in Minnesota before heading to Ohio State for a noon kickoff on Sunday, Sept. 30.
