NSCAA/Continental Tire poll

Sept. 18, 2012

MADISON, Wis. - With a 6-2-0 record, the Badgers move to No. 14 in this week's NSCAA/Continental Tire Division I poll following a 1-1 week on the road with an overtime win against UW-Milwaukee and a loss to No. 11 Penn State.

Wisconsin took down powerhouse UW-Milwaukee 2-1 last Wednesday night with Joana Bielefeld heading in a corner kick from Kinley McNicoll in the 95th minute.

Unfortunately, the Badgers could not keep their momentum going and lost 2-1 to Penn State despite an impressive performance by goalkeeper Lauren Gunderson, who tallied six saves during the match.

This week's poll finds Florida State (8-0-0) in the top spot yet again with a perfect record while UCLA (7-0-1) moves back into the No. 2 spot. Stanford (4-0-1), Boston College (6-1-1) and Duke (7-0-2) round out the top five places in the poll. Just four of the poll's top 25 teams continue to boast an undefeated record on the season.

Wisconsin looks to defend its undefeated home record on Friday, Sept. 23, as it takes on Michigan State at the McClimon Soccer Complex. Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m.
