NSCAA/Continental Tire poll

MADISON, Wis. – Following their double-overtime victory against Illinois State on Sunday, the Badgers moved to No. 13 in the latest NSCAA/Continental Tire Division I poll, released Tuesday.

Wisconsin extended its home winning streak to four games following its double overtime victory over the Redbirds on Sunday. Sophomore Cara Walls tallied a pair of goals, including a game-winner to improve the Badgers’ record to 5-1-0.

Florida State (6-0-0) remains in the top spot, while Duke (6-1-0) moves to No. 2 in this week’s poll with UCLA (5-0-1), Stanford (4-1-1) and Boston College (5-0-2) rounding out the top five. The only other Big Ten Conference team in the top-25, Penn State (5-2-0) dropped to No. 11 this week.

Wisconsin is one of 14 ranked teams that have lost only one game so far in 2012. Six undefeated teams highlight this week’s national poll.

Wisconsin returns to the pitch on Wednesday, Sept. 12, as it takes the short trip down I-94 to take on perennial-power Milwaukee. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
