MADISON, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin women’s soccer team recorded another shutout in its lone game of the week, blanking Loyola (Chi.), 4-0, en route to rising to No. 14 in this week’s NSCAA/Continental Tire Division I national poll, released Tuesday.

The Badgers, ranked No. 20 in last week’s poll, opened the season with three-straight shutouts for the first time since 1991 and are 3-0-0 for only the fifth time since 1988.

UCLA moves to No. 2 in the latest rankings, setting up an intriguing top 15 match-up for the Badgers in their first road trip of the 2012 slate. Following its first loss of the 2012 season, Stanford dropped to fourth in the poll, replaced by undefeated Florida State, who earned 24 of the 33 first-place votes

Oklahoma State and Pepperdine round out the top 5, while Penn State, the only other Big Ten women’s program ranked in the top 25, drops to No. 8.

The Badgers hit the road for the first time this season, traveling to Los Angeles for a pair of weekend matches. UW will visit undefeated UCLA on Friday, Aug. 31, at 9 p.m. (CT) before kicking off with Loyola-Marymount on Sunday, Sept. 2, at 2 p.m. (CT).
