MADISON, Wis. -- Highlighted by three matches in the state of Wisconsin and a pair of contests against Big Ten opponents, head coach Paula Wilkins and the Badgers announced their 2014 spring schedule on Friday.
The Badgers open their spring slate on the road with a duel against Minnesota on March 30. The team then returns home for a pair of home matches against Loyola-Chicago (April 5) and Marquette (April 16).
Following a short break, the Badgers return to the field to battle Illinois in Champaign, Ill., on April 27 before wrapping up the spring season on May 1 with a match at I-94 rival Milwaukee.
Wisconsin loses just two players from its 2013 roster, and returns 10 of its 11 starters, including Big Ten Freshman of the Year Rose Lavelle and second-team All-Big Ten honoree Kinley McNicoll.
Along with 2012 second-team All-Big Ten honoree Cara Walls, the Badgers also return starting goalkeeper Genevieve Richard and defender Kylie Schwarz who joined Lavelle on the 2013 Big Ten All-Freshman Team.
