MADISON, Wis. – Former Wisconsin women’s hockey players Meaghan Mikkelson and Bobbi-Jo Slusar were named to the Canadian Women’s National Team that will compete at the 2012 Four Nations Cup in Finland this November.

The 23-player roster, released by Hockey Canada on Wednesday, features 21 members of the Canadian team that won gold at the 2012 IIHF Women’s World Championships this past April. The roster also includes 13 members from the 2010 Olympic Winter Games gold medal-winning squad.

The announcement marks the fourth Four Nations Cup appearance for Mikkelson and the sixth for Slusar.

In addition, five other Badgers will compete at the 2012 Four Nations Cup, as Brianna Decker, Meghan Duggan, Hilary Knight, Alex Rigsby and Jessie Vetter were named to the U.S. roster.

The 2012 Four Nations Cup begins on Nov. 6, with the U.S. playing against Sweden. Canada is also set to take on Finland on the opening day of competition. Canada and the U.S. will play each other the following day, Nov. 7. The medal games are scheduled for Nov. 10.
