MADISON, Wis. – Hockey fans have a chance to watch an exclusive broadcast of the Wisconsin women’s hockey team’s national championship victory over Boston University. Live coverage of the March 20 game was only available online at NCAA.com, but the Wisconsin Channel will offer fans two opportunities to watch the game next week.

A digital TV channel from Wisconsin Public Television (WPT), the Wisconsin Channel will air the Badgers’ national championship game at 7 p.m. (CT) Tuesday, March 29. An encore broadcast will air at 1 p.m. (CT) Sunday, April 3, also on the Wisconsin Channel.

The Badgers earned a 4-1 win over Boston University in the championship game of the 2011 NCAA Women’s Frozen Four last Sunday at Tullio Arena in Erie, Pa., securing their fourth national championship in six years. Wisconsin concluded its 2010-11 season with a 37-2-2 overall mark, setting an NCAA record for wins in a single season.

WPT is a service of the Educational Communications Board and the University of Wisconsin-Extension.
