MADISON, Wis. -- In preparation for this weekend's games against St. Cloud State, UWBadgers.com caught up with senior Alev Kelter to get her take on the Wisconsin's matchup against the Huskies at LaBahn Arena.
Q: What has the transition from defense to forward been like for you this season?
Kelter: It's been awesome. I think that with the coaches and the girls teaching me it's been a pretty smooth transition.
Q: Besides winning the national title your sophomore year, what has been one of your favorite memories in your four years at Wisconsin?
Kelter: Playing outdoors at the Camp Randall Classic. That was awesome and is an experience that I will never forget.
Q: In your mind, what are some of the key differences between how the team is playing now compared to back when the season began in September?
Kelter: I think we're working together better. We had to find that chemistry and now in each game we keeping building upon that and we keep getting better.
Q: With the regular season over now, what is the team's mindset like heading into the postseason?
Kelter: It's definitely a one-game at a time mentality right now. We're just focusing on all the little things in our play and doing them correctly.
Q: Even though the team has had success against St. Cloud State this season, what are some of their strengths and what do the Badgers need to do to counter them?
Kelter: They're a team that is always working hard and they're never going to give up. They're going to play a full game and we just need to keep working hard and out play them.
Puck drop for the games on Friday and Saturday is set for 7 p.m. (CT). Sunday's game will begin at 4 p.m., if necessary. Fans can follow the action using the Women's Hockey Gameday Live Page.
