MADISON, Wis. - Wisconsin sophomore forward Carolyne Prévost had a four-point weekend against St. Cloud State to earn her first Western Collegiate Hockey Association Offensive Player of the Week honor for Jan. 27
The left winger from Sarnia, Ont., recorded her first collegiate three-goal hat trick to lead the Badgers to a 5-3 victory over St. Cloud State last Friday.
She scored once in the second period and twice in the third, with the second of her three goals, at 0:58 of the final stanza, proving to be the game-winner as Wisconsin ended a three-game skid. In addition to her three goals, she also fired seven shots on goal and earned a +2 plus/minus rating.
Prévost also went on to collect an assist on a shorthanded goal in the series finale against St. Cloud State last Saturday, a goal which knotted the score at 3-3 in an eventual 4-3 loss. That assist kept her career-best eight-game point streak alive and she also had three more shots on goal for a series total of 10.
Through 24 games played this season, Prévost ranks third on the team in scoring with seven goals, 10 assists and 17 points.
