MADISON, Wis. -- The University of Wisconsin women’s hockey team will look to “Ice Hunger” this winter by hosting a series of games in which fans can donate non-perishable food items to the Second Harvest Foodbank.

The second of four “Ice Hunger” games is this Saturday, Jan. 12. The Badgers face Ohio State at LaBahn Arena, with the puck dropping at 7 p.m.

The team encourages fans to help fight hunger by attending games this winter and donating a food item. The first 300 fans that bring a non-perishable food item for donation will receive a Wisconsin Hockey keychain and will be entered in a raffle to win a $50 Best Buy gift card.

In addition, Becker Law Offices will donate $1 for every fan in attendance at the four “Ice Hunger” games, with the cumulative check presented at the final game on Feb. 16.

After this weekend, the two remaining “Ice Hunger” games are slated for Jan. 27 and Feb. 16. Each game, fans will receive a different giveaway for their donation including a Wisconsin Hockey flash drive (Jan. 27) and drawstring backpack (Feb. 16). So, be sure to collect all four items!

To join in on this great cause purchase tickets here.

The Wisconsin Athletic Department has a successful partnership with Becker Law Office and Second Harvest Foodbank. Last year an NCAA-record 12,402 fans attended the “Fill the Bowl” event and raised over $12,000 and 1,500 pounds of food for Madison-area families.
