MADISON, Wis.-- In Wisconsin’s fifth shutout of the season, Brianna Decker and Hilary Knight netted two goals apiece while Carolyne Prévost added one herself as the Badgers downed St. Cloud State, 5-0, on Friday afternoon.

The Badgers improve their record to 14-1-0 (8-1-0-0 WCHA) on the season, while St. Cloud State falls to 1-12-2 (0-9-0-0 WCHA).

 Fast Facts
Brianna Decker extended her point streak to 26 games, a program record.
Brooke Ammerman has scored three assists in the past two games.
Alex Rigsby recorded her 10th career shutout

Carolyne Prévost started things off for the Badgers at the 7:31 mark in the first period opening the scoring off a pass from Decker. Four minutes later, Decker scored one of her own after being set up by Brooke Ammerman and Prévost to put Wisconsin up 2-0 in the first period.
The second period saw the Huskies step up their play and deny the Badgers from scoring in the 20-minute span. Wisconsin took 11 shots on net in the period, but Husky goaltender Tayler VanDenakker turned all 11 away, including a great back-door chance by Katy Jospehs.

The third period started off much like the second, until Decker was able to swing the momentum in Wisconsin’s favor. At the 11:26 mark, Lauren Unser connected with Ammerman behind the SCSU net. Ammerman then found Decker open on top of the crease and put it past VanDenakker for her second goal of the night.

The Badgers continued to control the puck, as Knight netted another UW goal at the 14:57 mark. Helping on the goal, Ammerman picked up her third-consecutive assist of the game. Knight sealed the shutout with her second goal of the game two minutes later. The play started after Kelly Jaminski picked up her own rebound from a shot on goal and moved the puck over to Josephs who then dished it off to Knight.

Sophomore goaltender Alex Rigsby made 19 saves in her 14th win and third shutout of the season. Rigsby wasn’t required to make any saves on the penalty kill as the Badgers limited their penalties to just one bench minor for too many players on the ice, in which the Huskies were unable to register a shot on goal.

The Badgers will wrap up the series against St. Cloud State on Sunday at 2 p.m. for their last home game of the 2011 calendar year.
