MADISON, Wis. -- Wisconsin women's hockey proved to be unstoppable on offense, scoring six goals against St. Cloud State on Friday afternoon in LaBahn Arena. Decker scored two goals in the game, becoming the third Badger in program history to record 100 career goals.

It wasn’t just the offense that shined in the contest, the Wisconsin defense only allowed 19 shots on goal with Alex Rigsby making all 19 stops to record her fourth shutout of the year.

Alev Kelter opened the scoring in the first period while the Badgers were on a power play. Erika Sowchuk and Blayre Turnbull assisted on the power-play goal. Kelter has now scored a goal in five-straight games, dating back to Nov. 2.

With 12 seconds left in the first period, Madison Packer collected a loose puck after a face off draw from Decker and got free in front of the net. Packer then chipped the puck in from the left side past St. Cloud State goaltender Julie Friend to give Wisconsin a 2-0 lead heading into the first intermission.

It looked like the Badgers were going to be scoreless in the second period after mustering 20 shots, but Decker changed that. The senior captain skated down the right side of the ice, and backhanded in a puck on the near post for her first goal of the game with 39 seconds left in the period to put Wisconsin up 3-0.

The offense kept rolling in the third period, as Saige Pacholok scored her first goal of the season off a slap shot from the point. From down in the corner, Sowchuk connected with Pacholok at the blue line and Pacholok picked a corner on the near post for Wisconsin’s fourth goal.

Kelter scored her second goal of the game off a pass from Lauren Unser. Unser was in front of the crease and passed it back to Kelter in between the face off circles to put the Badgers up 5-0. Sowchuk also was credited with an assist on the play, giving her three assists in the game, a career best for the freshman forward.

Decker's 100th-career goal came 83 seconds after Kelter's in the third period. Karley Sylvester took a shot on the goal that was turned aside by Friend toward the corner. Decker picked up the rebound and curled around the left face-off dot before sniping Friend over the shoulder.

The Badgers went 1-4 (.250) on the power play and have now scored a power-play goal in the last two games.

Wisconsin hosts St. Cloud State on Saturday at 2 p.m. at LaBahn Arena to close out the series.
