May 15, 2014

MADISON, Wis. -- Kimberly Dinh was one of three Wisconsin student-athletes named today to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District ® At-Large Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. The honor recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
Nick Caldwell, a junior swimmer from Sarasota, Florida, Dinh, a junior golfer from Midlands, Michigan, and Elizabeth Schoenfeldt, a junior rower from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, all were named to the District VI At-Large team.

Dinh is a repeat All-District Academic At-Large team selection and is a double major in chemistry and chemical engineering with a 4.0 cumulative grade point average. She completed the season having led UW twice in tournaments and played in all 32 rounds this season averaging 76.50 strokes per round. With Dinh on the team, the Badgers qualified for two consecutive NCAA Regionals and just missed a second-straight NCAA championship appearance in 2014. She has season bests of 69 for 18-, 142 for 36-, and 216 for 54-holes.

In 2013, Dinh was honored by the NCAA with the 2013 Elite 89 award, which is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average (4.0) participating at the NCAA championships. She is a two-time NGCA All-Scholar Team, three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar.

She has been on the Dean’s List every semester and is a member of Chi Sigma Alpha, Phi Kappa Phi, Society of Women Engineers, and the Chancellor's Scholarship Program.

The Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
