DALLAS -- The Wisconsin women's golf team heads to Dallas this weekend for the Dallas Athletic Club Invitational, as host SMU welcomes in 15 teams, including six in the top 50 of the GolfWeek/Sagarin rankings, this Friday through Sunday.
The Dallas Athletic Club will host the 54-hole tournament, which will be played over three days (18 holes per day). The venue boasts a par-72 layout with total yardages of 6,301 (days 1 and 2) and 6,359 (day 3).
In addition to six of the top 15 teams participating being currently rated in the top 50 of the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings, two of the top-10 individuals will also appear. The nation's current No. 2 golfer, Kelsey Vines, of Oklahoma State and No. 9 Chirapat Jao-Javanil of Oklahoma are each set to compete.
The field of teams includes No. 38 Denver, Kansas Sate, Louisville, Marshall, Missouri State, Nebraska, North Texas, No. 24 Notre Dame, Ohio State, No. 2 Oklahoma, No. 23 Oklahoma State, Oregon State, No. 34 SMU, No. 45 UTSA and No. 55 Wisconsin.
The third tournament in as many weekends for Wisconsin, the Badgers enter having won the BYU at Entrada Classic, March 18-19, and most recently tied for 13th place last weekend at the Briar's Creek Invitational, March 25-26.
Competing for Wisconsin is Lindsay Danielson, Kimberly Dinh, Alexis Nelson, Kris Yoo and Aaren Ziegler.
Temperatures are predicted to be in the mid-70s Friday through Sunday, with winds ranging from 9-18 mph and blowing in the south or southeastern direction. Cloudy skies are expected, as well as a 10 percent chance of rain.
Friday and Saturday start times are slated for 8 am. CT, while Sunday will feature a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 a.m. CT.
