FLORENCE, Ind. -- Sunday was a day to remember for the Wisconsin women's golf team at the Hoosier Fall Invitational, and a day that won't be easily forgotten considering you'll now find it listed in the record books along multiple feats.

Lindsay Danielson kept on her record-breaking pace to capture the first individual title of her career, while the Badgers as a team closed a 12-stroke gap in the final 18 holes at Belterra Resort in Florence, Ind., to come from behind and take the team title over host Indiana.

Following 36 holes of competition on Saturday, Indiana sat in first place heading into the final 18 holes on Sunday with a 4-over par 295-285--580. Wisconsin was the next closest at 16-over par 296-296--592 in the 13-team field.

Playing under cloudy skies and winds at 19 miles per hour and gusting up to 25 mph, the Badgers finished with the best final round of golf of the 12 other teams in contention, carding a 14-over par 302 to bring their team total to 30-over par 296-296-302--894 and capture their first title of the season.

Indiana finished their tournament with a 28-over par 316, but after an Indiana player was disqualified for signing an incorrect scorecard, Wisconsin earned the team title over Indiana by 2 strokes.

As a result of the DQ, Wisconsin claimed its first team title since Sept. 26, 2011, at its Badger Invitational. This was the team's first road title since winning the BYU Entrada Classic on March 22, 2011.

The Badgers averaged 298 strokes as a team 18-hole average, which marked a new program record by four strokes. UW's score of 30-over par 296-296-302--894 also tied for seventh-best all-time in program history.

Making it a tournament sweep, Danielson finished out her tournament with a consistent final round -- carding two birdies and two bogeys -- to claim the individual crown by finishing with a 1-over par 73 and a 54-hole total of 3-under par 72-68-73--213.

The finish was a 54-hole career-best total for the senior, outdoing her previous personal-best mark by five strokes (218). The Osceola, Wis., native's first place finish was another career mark, crossing out her previous best, a second-place finish in 2011 at the Lady Buckeye Invitational (72-78-77--227).

Danielson's 54-hole total also tied the school record 54-hole total. Teammate Alexis Nelson was the most recent to card a 213 at the Westbrook Invitational last season, while Carly Werewie also recorded the total in 2010.

Kris Yoo picked up a top-10 finish and contributed heavily in team scoring, carding a final day 4-over par 76 and finishing the tournament in a tie for ninth place with a 9-over par 75-74-76--225.

Aaren Ziegler finished in 20th place with a 14-over par 75-77-78--230, Alexis Nelson placed in a tie for 27th with a 17-over par 74-77-82--233 and Kimberly Dinh came in a tie for 32nd with her 18-over par 80-79-75--234.

Momentum on their side, the women's golf team will carry things forward next weekend in Las Vegas, Nev., for their final fall event at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, Oct. 21-23.
