EAST LANSING, Mich. -- The Wisconsin women’s golf team earned its first top-10 finish of the fall season, after the team turned in a 56-over par 309-308-303--920 at the 54-hole Mary Fossum Invitational in East Lansing, Mich., on Sunday.

Following a weekend of golf in which they finished 12th at the Cougar Classic, the Badgers cracked the top 10 and finished sixth as a team by shooting a 15-over par 303 in their final round of golf at the Forest Akers West Golf Course.

Big Ten rival Purdue held on to its lead to finish out and win the tournament with an 11-over par 288-290-297--875. The Boilermakers dominated the tournament as a collective group, as four of the team’s five golfers finished in the top eight individually.

Michigan State saw two of its golfer place in the top 10 individually to boost the team to an 18-over par 297-289-296--882 and runner-up finish, while Notre Dame took third place with a 23-over par 298-290-299-887.

Just a week after carding a career-best 54-hole score of 2-over 218 at the Cougar Classic, Ziegler showcased another impressive tournament of golf, capped by a final round 3-under par 69 that included four birdies on the front nine and just one bogey all day.

After leading the Badgers through two rounds of scoring, Lindsay Danielson earned herself a top-25 finish individually, finishing in a tie for 25th place after carding a 13-over par 75-78-76--229.

Kris Yoo finished tied for 37th place with an 8-over par 78-76-80-234, Kimberly Dinh tied for 54th place with an 11-over par 78-77-83--238 and Alexis Nelson came in a tie for 60th place with her 23-over par 79-82-78--239.
