Charleston, S.C. -- It was moving day at the Cougar Classic at Yeamans Hall in Charleston, S.C., on Monday, with many teams jockeying for position in team competition. Unfortunately, it was also a day the Wisconsin women's golf team found itself moving in the wrong direction.

Entering the day with a score of 292 and in a tie for 10th on the team leader board, UW's second round score of 305 slipped the Badgers down to 17th place among the 24 teams in competition.

As a team, the Badgers combined to shoot 7 birdies, but were plagued by a rough second round of golf that saw them total 20 bogeys and 6 double bogeys, which brought their team score to 21-over par 597 (292+305=597).

Aaren Ziegler turned in the best second-round individual score for Wisconsin, shooting a 3-over par 75 to bring her to 4-over par 148 (73+75=148) and a tie her for 51st place. Ziegler opened her day with a pair of birdies on the front nine, but ended her day with five bogeys.

Kris Yoo remained the highest individual Badger after shooting a 4-over par 76 for 147 (71-76=147) and a tie for 42nd.

With a score of 150 (73-77=150), Lindsay Danielson finished her second round in a tie for 63rd, while Alexis Nelson had 153 (76-77=153) to finish in a tie for 89th place. Kimberly Dinh ended her day tied for 101st place after shooting an 8-over par 80 to bring her to 155 (75-80=155).

After sitting in a three-way tie for second place through the first round of competition, Florida separated itself from the competition and took sole lead in the tournament. The Gators shot an impressive second-round score of 279, the lowest of any team through two rounds of competition, bringing their score to an 11-under par 565.

Southern California slipped from first place to second with an 8-under par 568 (285-283=568), while Vanderbilt was third with a 2-under par 574 (289-285=574).

The final round of the 54-hole Cougar Classic takes place tomorrow. The Badgers begin teeing off at 7:50 a.m. (CT). Follow live scoring at golfstat.com.
