NORMAN, Okla. -- Kris Yoo walked off the ninth green at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club having just finished off a school and course record round of 7-under par 65 at the 2013 NCAA Central Regional on Saturday.

The twentieth-seeded Wisconsin women's golf team had pulled into a tie for the eighth and final berth to the NCAA championship. Both Michigan State and Coastal Carolina also had sights set on that final championship spot. Fortunately for Wisconsin, there were still three holes left to play and two Badgers yet to finish their rounds.

Kimberly Dinh and Lindsay Danielson made sure those weren't the final rounds on Wisconsin's season.

Dinh parred her final hole, then Danielson birdied and parred her final two holes, as the Badgers capped off a final round even-par 288 and earned an outright seventh place finish to claim a berth in the 2013 NCAA Championship.

The Badgers combined to shoot 19-over par 292-303-288=883 for the tournament, securing just the second NCAA championship trip in program history. The 18-hole team total (288) ranks third-best in school history and the 54-hole team total (883) sixth all-time.

"It was a great week and I'm so proud of everyone," Wisconsin Head Coach Todd Oehrlein said. "It was such a solid round today and a really exciting finish."

What will be the first NCAA championship appearance under Coach Oehrlein in his tenth season at Wisconsin, the Badgers earned the program's first trip back to the national stage in a decade. Wisconsin's last appearance at an NCAA championship came during the 2002-2003 season.

Making history of her own was Yoo, as the junior from Schaumburg, Ill., bounced back from a second round 80 by converting seven birdies over her final 18 holes on her way to carding a school record 18-hole score of 65.

"Kris was just outstanding today," Oehrlein said. "To put together a clean scorecard given the situation was an incredibly clutch performance. She looked comfortable from the beginning and never let up."

Yoo finished the tournament at 1-over par 72-80-65=217 to come in a tie for 11th place individually. Her 7-under par 65 also marked a women's competitive course record for Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club.

Dinh and Aaren Ziegler took top-50 individual finishes for Wisconsin at the tournament. Ziegler finished 6-over par 76-73-73=222 to tie for 35th place, while Dinh was a stroke behind to tie for 42nd place at 7-over par 73-76-74=223.

Rounding out team scoring for Wisconsin was Alexis Nelson and Danielson, as Danielson finished in a tie for 57th place at 9-over par 71-78-76=225 and Nelson recorded 15-over par 78-76-77=231 to tie for 85th place.

Top-seeded Duke bested all teams in scoring and finished in first place at 13-under par 284-291-276=851. Host team Oklahoma came runner-up at 7-under par 283-286-288=857, while Mississippi State finished in third place with an 8-over par 292-299-281=872.

Ally McDonald of Mississippi State finished atop all individual scorers at 10-under par 69-69-68=206, while Duke's Alejandra Cangrejo came in second place (72-69-70=211) and Emily Collins of Oklahoma took third place (67-70-74=211).

Along with Wisconsin, also finishing in the top eight was Arizona State, Florida, Michigan State and UC Davis. The top eight teams from the Central Regional will join the top eighth teams from both the East and West Regional to form the 24-team championship field.

The 2013 NCAA Championship takes place May 21-24 in Athens, Ga.
