JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. -- The University of Wisconsin women’s golf team finished in a tie for 13th place Tuesday at the Briar’s Creek Invitational held on Johns Island, S.C. Kris Yoo led the individual scoring for the Badgers and earned her fifth-straight top-15 finish with a 12-over par 77-79-72=228.

­­Wisconsin entered the second and final day of competition in 10th place after ending the first day with a weather-shortened score of 49-over par. The Badgers slipped three spots over the course of the day to finish in a tie for 13th.

The Badgers bounced back from their second-round score of 315 and closed the 54-hole tournament with a final round tourney best 15-over par to finish at 75-over par 321-315-303=939.

No. 23 Notre Dame claimed the team title with its 42-over par 317-300-289=906, while Maryland finished runner-up with a 50-over par 312-310-292=914 and Coastal Carolina came in third place with a 52-over par 305-304-307=916.

Ashley Armstrong of Notre Dame took home the individual title as well, after she shot a 1-over par 74-71-72=217 through three rounds of difficult play which included 40-50 mph winds on Monday.

Yoo paced the scoring for Wisconsin carding an even-par 72 over the final 18 holes to finish with a 12-over par 77-79-72=228 and tie for 13th place individually.

Aaren Ziegler, Kimberly Dinh, Lindsay Danielson and Dana Voss also competed for Wisconsin. Ziegler finished in a tie for 46th place by carding a 21-over par 85-77-75=237

Dinh, who had her first tournament win in last weekend’s BYU at Entrada Classic, finished in a tie for 63rd after recording a 24-over par 81-82-77=240. Danielson’s 25-over par 85-77-79=241 was good for a tie for 65th place and Voss finished in 86th place with her 32-over par 78-90-80=248.

Wisconsin will compete in its third tournament in as many weeks next weekend, April 5-7, at the SMU/Dallas Athletic Club Invitational held in Dallas, Tex.
