PEORIA, Ariz. The Badgers are poised to move up after finishing in a tie for fourth after two rounds of the 54-hole Westbrook Spring Golf Invitational in Peoria, Ariz.
Scores remained low despite howling winds and 50 degree temperatures in the second annual tournament at the par 72 Westbrook Village Golf Course.
No. 7 Arkansas leads the touranament with a 7 over par 296-287--583. The 287 ties the Westbrook team 18-hole mark set by Indiana on 2/26/12. No. 9 Washington and No. 14 Texas Tech are tied for second with 9-over 585.
Texas Tech's Elin Arvidsson is in a 3-way tie for first with a 2-under par 75-67--142. Washington's SooBin Kim had 72-70--142 and Gabriela Lopez of Arkansas is also at 142 with 72-70--142. Arvidsson's 67 was a new Westbrook Invitational 18-hole record.
The Badgers were led by Kris Yoo who is 1-over par at 75-70--145. Kimberly Dinh also turned in a top-20 finish placing tied for 17th at 8-over par 73-77-150. Lindsay Danielson recorded an eagle on the par 5, 487-yard fifth hole. She is tied for 21st with an 8-over par 76-76--152. Also competing with the team were Aaren Ziegler tied for 58th with 81-78-159 +15. Alexis Nelson is 72nd with 84-79--163 +19.
Playing as individuals not involved in the team scoring, Dana Voss is tied for 13th with a 5-over par 74-75--149 and Abby Busler is tied for 29th with 78-75--153 +9.
The tournament will be completed Monday with 18-holes. Due to a frost delay, the shotgun start will be at 9 a.m. MT.
NOTE: The team and individual scores were modified after first report Feb. 24 because of a DQ for a player on K-State team which modified the results.
