MADISON, Wis. - As the holiday season approaches, members of the Wisconsin women’s basketball team were asked about their holiday plans. The Badgers hold their last practice before the break on Tuesday and will return to Madison for practice late on Saturday.
Wisconsin returns to action on Dec. 28 when it hosts Michigan State at 7 p.m. in the Kohl Center.

Be sure to check back in the next three days as the Badgers write about their favorite holiday traditions, their favorite holiday food, what they enjoy most about the holidays, what they asked for this holiday season and what makes the holiday season special.

I am looking forward to just relaxing and spending time with my family and my dog, of course. Because of our busy schedule, on and off the court, we don't get many chances to go home, (besides Lin who basically commutes) so I really cherish the days I get to spend with my family away from everything. I am also looking forward to not being on a day-to-day schedule and not studying, which is very rare! Sadly, that is just temporary. Oh, and I really need to catch up on movies. Can't wait for some popcorn! – Alana Trotter
Being with my family and relaxing. – Assistant coach Kathi Bennett
I’m most excited to be able to spend some time at home and see my family and friends. But very excited for some home cooked meals! – Alyssa Karel
My mom's home-cooked dressing, mac and cheese, and family fellowship. – Anya Covington
The thing I am most looking forward to is definitely the food! – Program assistant Sabrina Siker
Watching the excitement of my nephews and nieces open all of their gifts and just being able to spend time with my parents, brothers and their families. – Director of Operations Stephanie Janke
I am looking forward to just being home and spending time with my family. – Catie O’Leary
I am looking forward to the home-cooked meals, getting to see my family and relatives in Minnesota, relaxing by the fire and sleeping in my own bed. – Emily Neal
Family, food and seeing my friends who I haven't seen in a while. – Tiera Stephen
Just being with family and enjoying all the love. – Coach Lisa Stone
