Anderson lands in France

Wisconsins all-time basketball scoring leader Jolene Anderson has found herself a new home overseas. The former Badger womens player is now playing for Villeneuve dAscq, which is located in northern France, and a part of the Ligue Feminine de Basketball.

Anderson arrived in France in early September and scored 23 points, despite her teams 76-58 loss, in a friendly match against Mondeville. Anderson and her team played in the 5th Annual Open LFB Basketball Tournament, which took place in Paris last weekend. Villeneuve dAscq defeated Aix-en-Provence, 64-52, on Saturday as Anderson finished with six points and five rebounds.

Anderson was the last player to sign for the season and here is what is being said about her on a French Web site.

The signing of Jolene Anderson may turn out to be the signing of the season as her style of play fits the (head coach Abdou) N'Diaye philosophy.

Anderson was drafted No. 23 overall by the Connecticut Sun back in April. She averaged 4.0 points in 24 games before being released by the team in late August.
