For nearly 250 boys and girls, their dreams of playing basketball in the Kohl Center came true on Tuesday night in the annual UW womens basketball Buckys Buddies Clinic. In addition to playing on the Kohl Center floor, the participants also got a chance to meet the members of the Badger team and enjoy a pizza party.
After checking in and receiving their clinic t-shirt, the Buckys Buddies got to watch the end of the UW practice. Once practice was done, the Badgers returned to the court where Coach Lisa Stone addressed the participants and parents. The UW players introduced themselves and two have upcoming birthdays received big rounds of applause.
All of the participants were called down to the Kohl Center floor where they were divided into groups for the clinic. Two groups stayed on the main floor, playing five on five while the rest of the groups were taken to the Nicholas-Johnson Pavilion where they worked on a variety of basketball skills, including layups, jump shorts and ball handling.
Everyone enjoyed a pizza dinner before getting their t-shirts and basketballs autographed by the Badgers.
