Week 2 NWCA Coaches Poll
MADISON, Wis. -- The National Wrestling Coaches Association released its second poll for the 2010-11 season and the Wisconsin wrestling team is currently ranked No. 4, it was announced Wednesday. The Badgers moved up one spot since slating the No. 5 position in the NWCA preseason poll.
The Badgers are the second-highest ranked Big Ten Conference team in the poll, behind No. 3 Minnesota. Conference foes Penn State (No. 6), Iowa (No. 7), Illinois (No. 10), Ohio State (No. 12), Michigan (No. 16), Northwestern (No. 21) and Purdue (No.22) also fall among the top 25 in this week’s rankings.
The Badgers travel to UNC-Greensboro to take on the Spartans in their first dual meet Friday at 6 p.m. (CT). Fans can follow all the action live on UNCGSpartans.com.
Wisconsin wraps up the weekend at the ACC Challenge at the University of North Carolina Sunday. The Cardinal and White face Virginia Tech at 10 a.m. (CT), compete against North Carolina at 12 p.m. (CT) and conclude the day against UT-Chattanooga at 4 p.m. (CT).
