BLACKSBURG, Va.—Concluding its Virginia road trip Sunday, the No. 25 Wisconsin wrestling team (2-2) split a pair of lopsided meets at the Hokie Duals in Blacksburg Va., defeating Campbell University, 35-7, before falling to host No. 12 Virginia Tech, 32-6.

The Badgers opened the day with a dual against the Fighting Camels of Campbell University and quickly ran away with the victory.

 Fast Facts
Jackson Hein (4-0) and Connor Medbery (3-0) remained undefeated on the season.
Tyler Graff lost his first match of the season and first to a ranked opponent.
Kalvin York made his season debut against Campbell and pinned his opponent for the win.

After Matt Cavallaris dropped a major decision, 15-2, to Eric Montoya in the 125 lbs. match, Wisconsin went on to win eight-of-the-next-nine matches, en route to a convincing 35-7 win.

Three Badgers earned their first wins of the season against the Fighting Camels. Tom Kelliher won by decision, 3-0, at 133 lbs., Kalvin York—making his season debut—pinned his opponent at 157 lbs. in 3:42 and Scott Liegel won by decision, 10-2, at 174 lbs.

Tyler Graff, Frank Cousins, Jackson Hein and Connor Medbery remained undefeated after the Campbell dual. The third-ranked Graff won by technical fall, 22-7, in 3:09 at 141 lbs., Cousins won by decision, 10-4, at 165 lbs., Hein won by major decision, 12-4 at 197 lbs. and Medbery pinned his opponent in just less than three minutes.

Following the win, Wisconsin matched up with No. 12 Virginia Tech.

The Hokies showed why they are one of the countries best teams, winning eight-of-the-first-10 matches to build a huge lead and an eventual 32-6 win.

Hein spoiled Virginia Tech’s hopes for a shutout and remained undefeated on the season; winning by decision, 5-3, at 197 lbs. No. 16 Connor Medbery followed that up with a win by decision, 3-2, to also stay undefeated.

Graff and Cousins weren’t as fortunate. Graff suffered his first loss of the season—and first loss to a fellow ranked opponent—falling to No. 10 Zach Neibert by decision, 4-3, at 141 lbs. Cousins was pinned in less than a minute and a half in the 165 lbs. match for his first defeat of the year.

Wisconsin returns to the UW Field House next weekend for a dual with Northern Iowa on Saturday, Nov. 24.

The meet begins at 7 p.m. and the first 100 fans in attendance will receive a free 2012-13 Bucky Book. Also, in keeping with Black Friday tradition, admission to the match will be just one dollar.
