2012-13: Redshirt season ... 10-3 record at 133 and 141 lbs., in open tournaments ... won the Pointer Open at 133 lbs., with a 3-0 record ... finished sixth at 133 lbs., at the Midlands Championships with a 3-3 record ... won the Flash Flanagan Open at 141 lbs., with a 4-0 record.

High school: Four-time Wisconsin state champion for Germantown High School ... joins the Badgers after a season training for the Olympics ... placed fourth at the 2012 U.S. Olympic trials in the Greco-Roman competition ... took fourth at the 2012 US Open ... three-time junior world team member ... FILA Junior National Champion and two-time Fargo champion in Greco-Roman.

Davis on Thielke: "Jesse Thielke is probably one of the most experienced guys we're getting. He's a four-time state champion in Wisconsin, been on multiple junior world teams and took a year off for the OTC. He is almost like a veteran coming in with the experience he has had."

Personal: Parents are Jeff and Pam Thielke ... father Jeff was a gymnast at UW-Stout ... has three siblings, Sierra, Cody, and Justin.

Why Wisconsin?: It was a perfect place for me to both succeed and enjoy myself.
