The University of Wisconsin will host the 2011 Big Ten Conference Men's Tennis Tournament, April 28-May 1, at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison, Wis. All 11 Big Ten schools will participate in the four-day tournament. Admission to the 2011 Big Ten Men's Tennis Tournament is free.
Please note that in case of inclement weather, matches will be moved indoors at Nielsen Tennis Stadium as necessary. All times are Central, and the schedule is subject to change.

The Courts: Nielsen Tennis Stadium/Cole Hall Courts
The 2011 Big Ten Men's Tennis Tournament will be held at two sites, Nielsen Tennis Stadium and the Cole Hall Courts. The Cole tennis courts are approximately six blocks from Nielsen. Both semifinal matches and the championship match will be held entirely at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.

Nielsen Tennis Stadium is the official home courts of the University of Wisconsin men's and women's tennis teams. The Wisconsin tennis teams are afforded a competitive advantage by playing year-round at Nielsen Tennis Stadium, ranked by USTA as one of the finest tennis facilities in the country. The stadium features 18 tennis courts (12 indoor and six outdoor), five singles squash courts and one squash doubles court. Nielsen Tennis Stadium was built in 1968 for $2 million and is now valued at nearly $9 million.

General Information
Admission There will be no fee for admission to the 2011 Big Ten Men's Tennis Tournament.
Awards One large team trophy will be awarded to the tournament team champion at the end of the championship match on Sunday, May 1. Tournament t-shirts and hats will also be given to the team champion.
At the championship banquet on Thursday evening, awards for All-Big Ten first and second team, Coach of the Year, Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year and sportsmanship will be presented.
Balls The Wilson Extra Duty tennis ball will be the official ball used at the Big Ten Men's Tennis Tournament.
Banquet The tournament banquet will be held at the Kohl Center on Thursday, April 28 at 7 p.m. The cost of the dinner is $30.00 per person. Support staff and family members are invited to attend but must be included in each institution's count and payment. A banquet reservation form can be found in the official tournament manual.
Coaches' meeting There will be a conference call to determine seeding on Monday, April 25 at 2 p.m. (CT). Team line-ups will be presented and challenges may be offered during the call. During the seeding call, each coach shall present the final line-up for the tournament. Each line-up must be approved by a majority vote of the conference coaches. If a proposed line-up fails to be approved by a majority vote, a revised line-up must be submitted for another vote. The pre-tournament meeting shall be conducted via conference call at the conclusion of the seeding discussion.
There will be a second coaches' meeting immediately following the tournament banquet on Thursday, April 28 at the Kohl Center Nicholas Suites. The purpose of this meeting will be to review final tournament arrangements.
Concessions There will be no "official" concessions provider for the general public. However, vending is available inside Nielsen Tennis Stadium on the lower level. Additionally, on Saturday, full concessions will be available in the adjoining softball complex beginning at 11 a.m.
Headquarters Hotels Courtyard by Marriott and Fairfield Inn & Suites will serve as the two headquarters hotels for the 2011 Big Ten Men's Tennis Championship. Each hotel is approximately 6.5 miles west of the tournament site.

Hospital/Emergency The University of Wisconsin hospital is located directly across the street from Nielsen Tennis Stadium. Please call 911 in case of an emergency. A team physician will be on call or on site during the tournament.

Hospitality A hospitality tent area will be available to all coaches, athletes, staff and officials during the four days of competition. Available items will include bagels in the morning, fruit, granola bars and beverages.
Jewelry The Big Ten Men's Tennis Tournament will follow the policy outlined by the NCAA.
Lightning safety The University of Wisconsin follows lightning safety guidelines as outlined by the NCAA.
Locker rooms A general locker room will be available at Nielsen Tennis Stadium. At the Cole Courts, portable restrooms will be available and participants are encouraged to arrive dressed for competition. Towels will be provided at both locations.

Merchandise Tournament merchandise will be sold at Nielsen Tennis Stadium during limited hours from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday only.
Parking - Spectator Metered parking is available on the west side of Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Lot 82 on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking will be available for $10 in Lot 76 on Thursday and Friday. Passes are not needed on weekends or after 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. Parking at the Cole courts for Friday is available through meters on the top floor of Lot 36 across the street, or metered street parking.
Spectators may also purchase parking permits from UW Transportation Services ahead of time. UW Transportation Services is located at room 124 in the WARF Office Building at 610 Walnut Street or may be reached at (608) 263-6666.
Parking - Team Parking passes will be available to each institution as needed. Parking passes for Wednesday through Friday will be in the team registration packets at the team hotels upon check-in (or at Nielsen Tennis Stadium). Passes are not necessary on the weekend or weekdays after 4:30 p.m.
Results Coaches will receive updated results at the completion of each match. Fans not attending the tournament can visit UWBadgers.com for match updates. Results will also be available on the Big Ten Conference website at BigTen.org.
Rules Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rules shall govern match play, except as modified by the Championship Manual, the Conference Handbook, and NCAA Rules.
Sports Medicine Wisconsin's Athletic Training staff will be available for game day needs. There will be a certified athletic trainer present at all matches. Athletic training services will be available one and a half hours prior to the start of the first match of the day unless otherwise arranged. A team physician will be present or on-call for all matches.

Stringing services Stringing services will be provided at a rate of $17 per racket with your own string at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium competition site only. Schedule of hours will be provided in the team packets.
