MADISON, Wis. - Elliott Sprecher, a native of Eau Claire, Wis., has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Badgers beginning in the 2013-14 season, head coach Greg Van Emburgh announced today.

Sprecher has already made a name for himself, ranking in the national top-10 among juniors. His career is highlighted by the 2009 Nike Junior Tour National Championship title, which earned him a spot at the International Championships in the Dominican Republic, where he advanced to the quarterfinals.

Off the court, Sprecher carries a positive reputation earning the 2011 Jerry Noyce Junior Sportsmanship Award. Though he is currently homeschooled, Sprecher looks forward to joining the Wisconsin team next season and learning from his teammates.

"Wisconsin met everything I looked for in a school. I wanted a large university with a big-time sports feel as well as world-class academics," said Sprecher. "Not only does Wisconsin meet and surpass all this, it has the added bonus of being my state school. Playing for Wisconsin will be an honor."
