MADISON, Wis. - The Badgers concluded play at the Wildcat Invite in Evanston, Ill., after an impressive weekend highlighted by an undefeated Jakhongir Jalalov.
Wisconsin sent three members of its team to compete in singles play at the annual tournament. While senior Alexander Kostanov and freshman Alexander Kokorev both fell in their opening matches on Friday, freshman Jakhongir Jalalov came away with a 4-6, 6-2 (5) victory over Illinois State's Jacob Wilson.
Jalalov continued to impress on Saturday as he claimed a 6-4, 5-7 (10-4) victory over Western Michigan's Nadin Indre. Kostanov also tallied a win in a 7-5, 7-6 victory over Toledo's Nicholas Wong. Wisconsin opted out of play on Sunday, finishing the weekend 3-3 overall.
