Wisconsin's top-seeded doubles team of senior David Hippee and junior Alex Kasarov saw their run at the ITA Regional come to an end Sunday afternoon, falling in the round of 16.
After posting wins in the opening two rounds Saturday, Hippee and Kasarov dropped an 8-6 decision to the ninth-seeded team of Matt Baccarani and Patrick Thompson from Ball State.
Hippee and Kasarov advanced to Sunday's play by defeating DePaul's duo of Sam Davidson and Robert Kotroczo 9-8 (1) and Notre Dame's Pat Buchanan and Eric Langencamp 8-4 on Saturday.
Also in doubles play Saturday, UW's Scott Green and Alex Conti advanced to the second round with a victory over Michigan State's team of Michael Flowers and Joseph McWilliams, 8-6. Green and Conti were eliminated after falling 8-6 to Ohio State's Joey Atas and Jeremy Wurtzman.
The Badgers' Ward Bortz and Jordan Raemisch dropped an 8-4 opening-round decision to Western Michigan's Brady Crosby and Ravi Pathanjali.
Each of Wisconsin's three individuals in the singles main draw fell in the opening round of play Saturday. Kasarov pushed Purdue's Paul Rose to three sets but fell 7-6(4), 6-7(3), 6-4. Meanwhile Hippee was defeated by Illinois' 12th-seeded Chris Martin 7-5, 6-1 and Green lost to Louisville's Matt Mayer 7-6(2), 6-2.
