The Badger mens tennis team completed its first day at the Michigan Invite, competing against Notre Dame and Michigan State. Freshman walk-on Brian Ko was the solo winner, defeating Yuichi Uda, of Notre Dame, 7-5, 0-6, 6-4.
Against Notre Dame, senior captain Alex Kasarov, fell to Stephen Bass in three sets 6-4, 6-7(5), 6-3. Also losing in three was Freshamn Felipe Bellido to Eric Langenkamp, 3-6, 7-5, 6-4.
In doubles play Michigan State swept the badgers, winning all four matches. No. 1 doubles, Alex Kasarov and Jordan Raemisch lost to Formanczyk/Rinks 8-6. Freshman duo of Elliott Bisnow and Jeremy Sonkin fell to Compton and Marshall 8-3.
Wisconsin meets the Spartans again tomorrow in singles, followed by Notre Dame in Doubles.
